Michelle has a Bachelor's of Science degree in Biomedical Science from the College of Veterinary Medicine at Texas A&M University in College Station and a Master's in the Art of Teaching from the University of Maine at Orono. She's been a Denver Public Schools Distinguished Teacher for many years, was a Radio Frequency Engineer for Cingular Wireless prior to entering teaching and is an avid animal enthusiast.
With the onset of the pandemic, Michelle has noticed a serious gap for many students, particularly in Math. She also wants to inspire students to find a passion for the sciences, as these careers are greatly rewarding and profitable. And finally, Michelle is eager to help students become confident in the quality of the math and science they know and can do, applying this understanding to real-world applications, supporting all learners, particularly our kinetic and visual kids. Michelle currently works with kindergarten through college-level students to support kids who need to work up to their grade level and for those students who wish to accelerate beyond current grade standards.
