I’m originally from Pittsburgh, PA. I have a history of teaching both middle school and high school, with subjects like AP US Government, AP Psychology, AP European history, AP US history, and regular US & European history!

I currently teach middle school social studies with a focus on Eastern Hemisphere history & current issues. At our school, we focus on Project Based Learning and Standards Based Grading, all while following CDE standards.

Looking to help minimize learning loss over the summer with any social studies courses, or ELA/Writing subjects!

Passionate about the Pittsburgh Steelers, my two cats & my dog, and teaching!

Social studies and English are closely tied! I teach my students basic research and paragraph / essay formula writing skills. We do in-depth analysis of multiple sources to create informative, argumentative and historical writing based on thesis statements and the CLAIM - EVIDENCE / REASONING framework.

As someone who graduated with a secondary social studies education degree and has now taught in two states across multiple grade levels, I have experience in a wide variety of subjects. My main goal as a social studies teacher is to make content relevant and interesting to students so they no longer have to ask, “Why is this important to me? Why does this matter?” I take an unbiased point of view when teaching even the most difficult topics of social studies, such as politics and current events.
