Hello! My name is Shelby, and I am excited to help you excel with your studies! I understand what its like to be a student, I've been one for over 20 years, but I also know how to teach in a fun but educational way. I most recently taught undergraduate students how to do archaeology field work, but I have been helping students improve their reading and writing skills since I started college.
I love seeing the moment when one of my students finally understands a topic they have been struggling with, and nothing gives me more pride when a student tells me they got the grade they wanted on a test or assignment. I know I certainly learn best when I find a topic interesting, so my goal for every lessons is to find a way to make learning fun and exciting while also making sure that my students genuinely understand the information.

I have been studying Archaeology since 2009 and am currently working on my thesis. I am very passionate about the topic and have valuable fieldwork experience from three different countries.

Reading and writing have been two of my favorite hobbies since I was 4 years old. I scored in the 91st percentile for English on the GRE, and almost always get an A on my essays, regardless of the topic. I know that reading can be seen as boring or difficult, but I would be delighted to show you why it doesn't have to be!

I hold an undergraduate degree in History and spend a lot of my free time reading about history and other related topics for fun. As a result of this I can connect the information you need to learn with interesting stories about people from history, making people and events come alive.

As a graduate student I have a fairly flexible schedule and understand that my students have busy lives, so I would be happy to come up with a tutoring schedule that suits your needs.
