Hi there! I am a Finance professional who spent time in engineering and advanced mathematics in college. For me, math is all about understanding the relationships between numbers. I look for proven tricks that help guide students towards the right answer and thought processes. Hi there! I am a Finance professional who spent time in engineering and advanced mathematics in college. For me, math is all about understanding the relationships between numbers. I look for proven tricks that help guide students towards the right answer and thought processes. In high school, I was an AP Scholar with a 4.2 GPA while being a varsity basketball player and a travel-team basketball player as well. I graduated high school with 60 college credits, and had the freedom to pursue what I wanted in my higher education.

A lot of what students learn is not so much about the content, but understanding different ways of thinking through various problems. My sister is a Director of Special Education at a private school, so i have spent many years working in her classrooms that ranged from rosters of students who all had learning disabilities and those who did not. Most of these schools were from under-serviced areas of town, and dealt heavily with crime, low-graduation rates, and poverty. Working with these students helped me to better empathize with youth and try to relate the work being done in the classroom with work at home. For example, one student felt that percentages were useless and he couldn't get them; he was wearing a Miami Heat shirt so we started looking at players stats and did percentages that way. He learned percentages and was excited to apply it because it helped represent something he enjoyed. This is largely how I try to teach and tutor youth with areas they struggle with. Also, I have extensive experience tutoring family, from elementary to high school, as math is not something that was genetic for us!

Outside of the classroom, I was a basketball player all my life, and have coached since I stopped playing. I have coached a range of athletes from elementary students in recreational leagues up to top high school talent at NCAA-recruiting events for scholarships, across the US. I specialize in helping student-athletes get the education they need to play at the next level.
