Hi! I’m Dani, a licensed Colorado educator and current 5th and 6th grade math teacher. I specialize in helping students who feel frustrated, overwhelmed, or simply need math explained in a different way. I work with students across a wide range of ability levels, including students who need extra support with foundational skills, students who struggle with math confidence, and students who benefit from seeing concepts presented in multiple ways.
My goal isn’t just to help students get the right answer—I want them to understand why the math works. I use visual models, multiple strategies, real-world examples, and step-by-step instruction to make difficult concepts more approachable and build lasting understanding. When a student is struggling, I use assessment information and student work to identify exactly where their understanding begins to break down. This allows us to focus our tutoring time on the skills that will make the biggest difference instead of simply practicing problems they don’t yet understand.
I primarily work with students in 3rd through 6th grade math. I can provide support with homework, fractions and decimals, multiplication and division, math fact fluency, number sense, ratios and proportional reasoning, multi-step word problems, test preparation, and foundational skill gaps. I also have extensive experience using IXL, Zearn, Eureka Math, and online learning platforms, so I am comfortable supporting students who use these programs at school or at home.
Most importantly, I want students to feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. Math can be challenging without having to feel impossible. I love helping students reach that moment when something that once felt confusing finally clicks—and watching their confidence grow along with their math skills.
