With over a decade of experience in the game design industry and ten years as a dedicated educator, I offer a unique blend of high-level technical expertise and personalized instruction. My journey in technology began in 2008 as a self-directed developer, a path that eventually led me to professional roles at prestigious studios like Serenity Forge, where I am credited on three different production titles. Most recently, I served as a Senior Technical Designer for a prominent Roblox studio and led launch projects for the Anime Reborn team. These professional experiences allow me to teach students not just the syntax of Python, Lua, and Java, but the actual industry workflows used to build successful, real-world projects.
My teaching background is rooted in leadership and curriculum innovation. I spent several years with iD Tech, beginning as an instructor and quickly rising to Assistant Director before joining their specialized online team. My commitment to excellence led to high-profile mentorship roles, including direct instruction for the children of industry executives. Beyond one-on-one teaching, I worked on the iD Tech Curriculum Development team to build educational programs in partnership with New York University (NYU). This background in curriculum design ensures that my lessons are structured, goal-oriented, and backed by proven pedagogical standards.
I am versed in working with students aged 10 to 20, including those who are gifted or have specific learning disabilities. My approach is highly versatile; I do not believe in a one-size-fits-all methodology. Instead, I adapt my teaching style to the individual needs and household requirements of each student, offering various levels of extracurricular work to keep them engaged between sessions when requested. Whether a student is a beginner looking to write their first line of Lua or an advanced learner aiming for a career in game design, I strive to go above and beyond to ensure they find both success and confidence in their work.
