With over 25 years of dedicated musical experience, my passion is helping students find joy and unlock their potential on the fretboard. My teaching background is rooted in proven, real-world success, most notably as a lead instructor for Guitar Center, where I managed a consistently sold-out schedule of one-on-one lessons. I have successfully guided a diverse range of students, from six-year-olds to seasoned adults, by creating a fun, collaborative, and no-pressure environment tailored to each student's personal goals. My entire approach is built on listening first to understand what a student wants to accomplish, then building a clear path to get them there.

My ability to create these effective, personalized learning paths is grounded in a deep, formal education in music. I hold an advanced Grade 8 Music Theory certification from the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) and attended the prestigious Guitar Institute (now ICMP) in London. This foundation allows me to blend a structured curriculum, using trusted methods from Hal Leonard and Berklee Press, with a delivery that is completely adapted to the individual. I recognize how each person learns best—whether visually, analytically, or through muscle memory—and I tailor the "how" we learn to fit their style.

To keep lessons engaging and effective, I integrate modern tools like Guitar Pro to create custom exercises and utilize apps that provide backing tracks, transforming practice from a chore into a creative musical conversation. This hybrid approach provides students with the best of both worlds: the reliability of a proven system and the personal attention of a mentor who knows exactly how to help them succeed on their musical journey.

My teaching is grounded in a deep formal education, including an advanced Grade 8 Music Theory certification from the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music and performance-focused training from London's prestigious Guitar Institute (ICMP). This knowledge is complemented by extensive practical experience, most notably as a former instructor for Guitar Center, where I managed a consistently sold-out schedule teaching students from ages 6 to 60. This is all built upon a foundation of over 25 years as a dedicated multi-instrumentalist and professional musician, including time as a session player in the 90s Brit-Pop scene.
