I have been in music production and songwriting for several decades specializing in Pro Tools, using piano (and synthesizers) as my primary creative tool. I teach (and troubleshoot) music production and Pro Tools to individual musicians, school districts, universities, and private studios. I have done the music production on nine of my own albums, as well as many clients using most of the latest Pro Tools plugins.

Where I differentiate myself from other instructors, is my teaching the piano student how to improvise to create their own songs (I have produced 9 of my own albums). I also teach at the college level and consult on music production and songwriting, utilizing piano, synthesizers, and Pro Tools. I began classical piano training at 5 years old and continued through college. I provide piano lessons for the beginner and intermediate piano, keyboard, and synthesizer students. I spent much of my career in computer science following graduate school, but retired 10 years ago in order to spend more time with my first passion and helping others.

Dave took me from 0 to 60 in a two hour session...Very knowledgeable and easy to follow...It's beneficial if you have some understanding of the software...Dave is a whiz at shortcuts and organizing files...I would highly recommend Dave if you need help getting started...

Great Tutor!

He is knowledgeable and patient. We had online lessons via I-Phone, Team Viewer and Zoom. He gave me a free introductory lesson where we tested our communication methods and discussed the kinds of things I wanted to learn. It was great to be able to show him my files and get commentary. Throughout the lessons he shared his work methodology and answered my questions while checking out the files where the questions and problems were happening. I’m very happy with the outcome of the tutoring sessions and was able to complete a project I was working on when we started.
