Hi, I’m Sam! I graduated from the University of Colorado Boulder with a Bachelor’s degree in Integrative Physiology and am currently pursuing my Master of Public Health in Maternal & Child Health at the Colorado School of Public Health.
During my undergraduate studies, I served as an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant (UGTA) for Human Physiology Lab, Biostatistics, and Pathophysiology of Disease. These experiences gave me the opportunity to help college students understand challenging material ranging from human physiology and mechanisms of disease to statistical reasoning and data interpretation.
My approach to tutoring focuses on understanding rather than memorization. I believe difficult scientific concepts become much easier when they are broken down into manageable pieces and connected to the bigger picture. I especially enjoy using diagrams, clinical examples, and real-world applications to explain complex topics. I particularly enjoy working with high school and undergraduate pre-health students preparing for careers in medicine, nursing, public health, and other health professions.
I can help with physiology, anatomy, biology, physics, biomechanics, pathophysiology, biostatistics, and related health sciences. Whether you need help understanding lecture material, working through practice problems, preparing for an exam, or strengthening your foundation in a subject, I will tailor our sessions to your individual needs and learning style.
My goal is for you to leave each session not only knowing the correct answer, but understanding why it is correct and feeling confident applying what you learned independently.
Feel free to reach out and tell me about your course and what you’d like help with. I look forward to working with you!
