I’m Elyse C., and I bring over 10 years of professional experience in analytical chemistry along with a lifelong passion for music. I hold a Master’s degree in Molecular Biophysics from Johns Hopkins University and have worked in prestigious research and industry settings including Mayo Clinic and specialized materials laboratories. As an analytical chemist, I specialize in complex instrumentation like ICP-MS/OES, HPLC, and LC-MS, and I’ve contributed to published research in Nature. My approach to teaching chemistry is grounded in real-world applications—I know firsthand how these concepts work in practice, and I excel at breaking down complex material into clear, manageable steps.
Whether you’re struggling with general chemistry fundamentals, preparing for the MCAT or DAT, or tackling advanced analytical chemistry coursework, I can help. I’m experienced with topics ranging from stoichiometry and equilibrium to instrumental analysis and method development. I understand that chemistry can feel overwhelming, and I’m skilled at finding the right explanations and analogies to make concepts click.
As a clarinetist, I bring years of performance experience and a deep understanding of both technique and musicality. Whether you’re just picking up the instrument, preparing for auditions, or working on advanced repertoire, I tailor my approach to your individual goals and learning style.
I’m also a certified yoga instructor and practice mindfulness, which informs my patient, supportive teaching philosophy. I believe learning should be challenging but never overwhelming. My goal is to help you build genuine understanding and confidence, whether you’re mastering embouchure control, balancing chemical equations, or preparing for your next exam. I’m here to meet you where you are and help you reach your goals
