My background in both the sciences and the arts allows me to tutor across a range of subjects, including chemistry, ACT science and reading, and clarinet. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry and went on to complete a Master's in Medical Sciences, which deepened my understanding of scientific principles and strengthened my ability to communicate complex topics clearly. I also scored a 35 on the ACT, placing me in the 99th percentile, and can confidently help students prepare for the science and reading sections using strategies that worked for me.
I’ve worked with students from kindergarten through high school in a variety of settings. For over three years, I volunteered as a clarinet tutor at a local music school, offering free one-on-one lessons. Many of my students were beginners who had never played an instrument before, and I focused on helping them build both technical skills and confidence. Beyond music, I spent a year as a substitute teacher, teaching a wide range of subjects in K–12 classrooms. That experience helped me adapt quickly to different learning styles and age groups.
In other roles, I’ve mentored youth in both academic and personal development settings, including helping students learn English as a second language. These experiences taught me the importance of meeting students where they are and creating a supportive environment for learning. Whether I'm helping a student understand a chemistry concept, break down an ACT passage, or learn their first notes on the clarinet, I aim to make the material approachable and build their confidence along the way.
