Hi!
I'm Professor Armando, and tutoring has been my favorite pastime for over eight years. I have worked everywhere from volunteering with underprivileged youth, all the way to teaching multiple computer science classes at the Colorado School of Mines. I have a master's degree in computer science, and I currently work as a full-time software engineer at Lockheed Martin.
The thing I enjoy the most about tutoring is seeing a student's smile form as their level of confidence increases, and as they begin to realize that they can solve the problems at hand. By working with students 1-on-1, and filling in the knowledge gaps that hold them back, I feel as though I am helping to unlock students' futures.
Upon retiring, I hope to start my own computer science program at a local high school as a service to my community. In the meantime, however, I use tutoring as a way to satisfy my love for learning and teaching.
As a scientist and engineer, I have done a significant degree of mathematics throughout my career. With that being said, there was not a single math class that I enjoyed more than Algebra 1! I know it's intimidating at first, and it certainly presents a different way of thinking and solving problems, but with a little bit of guidance, I am sure that you can get the hang of it also. I have tutored Algebra 1 for many years, to countless students with different backgrounds, and I enjoy it every time. I am positive that we can get you on-track with any type of problem or question that you might have.
Graduating with a Master of Science degree from the Colorado School of Mines, I have significant experience and knowledge when it comes to computer science and programming! Not only did I graduate with a 4.0, but I was also named the "Outstanding Graduating M.S. Student in CS" for my class. This award was not only a reflection of my performance in the classroom, but also my performance as a teaching assistant and professor all throughout my career. I have created and taught an Introduction to Programming w
