I earned a bachelor of science degree in applied mathematics with a concentration in physics from the University of Colorado in Boulder. I initially began tutoring as a work study position providing drop in tutoring. I also worked in a special education classroom and led study groups that followed a course in its entirety. I enjoyed the work so much I have continued tutoring independently with students from high school through college, in upper level physics and math subjects. I can assist with courses one typically sees while earning a degree in engineering or applied science, from calculus to differential equations, and from general physics to quantum mechanics.
I am committed to helping you put theory into practice. We can talk about challenging concepts you see in lectures and work on strategies to solve the kinds of problems you see on your assignments. I love the challenge of bringing abstract concepts down to earth and continually adapt my approach to each student's unique learning style. If I can help another student succeed, that is a great reward for me! I employ resources like Desmos and Mathematica when a clear visual is necessary. These have been essential tools that I have used myself and I hope to help you integrate them into your studies.
Let's talk about your specific needs! If you have friends you enjoy studying with, I also offer group tutoring at a discounted rate. I look forward to hearing from you!

Knowledgeable and patient.
Great teacher, I would recommend to anyone who is struggling with any level of math. Evan thoroughly understood the concepts and would even derive formulas that I was confused with, and was clear about explaining them. Could not ask for a better tutor.Aisha, 2 lessons with Evan

Super Thorough and Helpful Tutor
Evan helped me through my fast paced Linear Algebra class by making sure I understood concepts. He would go through reasoning instead of not just a process to get to an answer. I performed much better on quizzes after he began tutoring me and the material felt more manageable when it was explained in a concise way.Jacob, 3 lessons with Evan

I thought Even was patient with my daughter and has a good demeanor as well as being solid mathematically. It's only her first lesson but will continue to see how it goes as she takes the Art of Problem solving course.Karl, 8 lessons with Evan
