As a former international trade law attorney, I have honed my written and presentation skills, and know how to write and perfect a persuasive pitch in any realm. Communicating your idea, your story or your value is about standing out. It requires winning the notice of another by showing your attention to detail, being concise and to the point, and invoking an emotional response to your truth and authenticity.
Most people find it hard to write about themselves, or express a goal or desire, even where there is clarity and passion around it. However, writing can be simple, yet impactful - it is just about telling your own story, in your own voice. I know how to help you find that voice and express it well. Early on in my education and career, I was asked to help high school students improve their scores on the written portion of the SAT; with focus on positive reinforcement of an individual's voice and strengths, these test scores showed significant gains. I have experience as a college professor and in editing. I continue to tutor English and Writing to students of all ages and levels, and can assist with papers, letters, job and college applications. I am keyed in to trends in undergraduate and graduate admissions, and can help students with the selection process. As a creative writer and editor I can also review book drafts and other works prior to publication.
