I am a pharmaceutical scientist based in Boulder, Colorado with a strong passion for teaching chemistry and helping students build confidence in STEM subjects. I earned my degree in Chemical Engineering and have several years of experience tutoring chemistry and math at the undergraduate level. During college, I worked with students in both one-on-one and small group settings, helping them develop problem-solving skills and a deeper understanding of core scientific concepts rather than simply memorizing equations or procedures.
My teaching experience includes serving as a teaching assistant for General Chemistry for Engineers and Physical Chemistry courses, as well as spending a semester as an instructor for General Chemistry for Engineers at the University of Colorado. In these roles, I worked closely with college students from a wide range of academic backgrounds, leading review sessions, explaining difficult concepts, answering questions during office hours, and helping students prepare for exams and laboratory coursework.
I especially enjoy teaching chemistry because it connects fundamental scientific ideas to the real world in meaningful ways. I'm a big fan of bringing in real life research and examples to show how the chemistry on the page was used to build the modern world around us - from ideal gases and thermodynamic engines to pKas and drug design!
