I hold a Master’s degree from the University of Colorado, Boulder and graduated as an honor student from Colorado College with a degree in Philosophy. My academic background is grounded in analytical thinking, writing development, and clear argumentation, skills that directly inform my tutoring work.
I worked with Just2Tutors for three years, supporting high school and college students in writing and executive functioning skills. In this role, I helped students strengthen essay structure, develop thesis clarity, organize research, and build sustainable planning systems for long term academic success. My work focused not only on improving individual assignments, but on strengthening the underlying skills that make students more independent and confident over time.
In addition to one on one coaching, I have taught lecture courses of more than 100 students at the University of Colorado as an adjunct professor. In these university settings, I emphasized writing process, revision practices, argument development, and critical thinking. Teaching at this scale required clarity, structure, and the ability to support diverse learning styles, which I bring into individualized tutoring sessions.
I have worked with middle school, high school, and college students in both classroom and one on one environments for over 15 years. As a father of two young boys, I value patience, clarity, and the development of long term confidence in learning. My approach is structured yet adaptable. I specialize in helping thoughtful, creative, and big picture students translate their ideas into clear written communication while developing practical systems for time management and follow through.
Sessions are collaborative, skill based, and designed to build long term academic confidence, not just complete assignments.

Creative Writing

Creative Writing

I hold an MFA from the University of Colorado, a graduate program that required extensive academic and creative writing, including a formal thesis and critical research. Over the past 20 years, I have worked as a multidisciplinary artist, educator, and storyteller, developing and refining narrative work across performance, script development, and written text. I have taught writing at both the secondary and university levels, guiding students in narrative structure, voice, character development, dialogue, and revision methodology. My training combines rigorous critique, workshop facilitation, and thesis-level writing practice, allowing me to help students strengthen clarity, coherence, and artistic impact while maintaining their creative individuality.
Essay Writing

Essay Writing

I hold a Master’s degree from the University of Colorado and have taught university lecture courses with a strong emphasis on academic writing and revision process. I work with middle school, high school, and college students to develop clear thesis statements, organized paragraph structure, and effective use of evidence. My approach teaches essay writing as a step by step process that includes outlining, drafting, structural revision, and refinement. I focus on building long term writing skills so students gain confidence and independence in their work.
Executive Functioning

Executive Functioning

I worked as an Executive Functioning Coach for three years with Just2Tutors, supporting middle school, high school, and college students in strengthening organization, task initiation, time management, working memory, and metacognitive skills. I design individualized intervention plans that build student ownership, accountability, and long-term independence rather than short-term compliance. My approach combines structured systems such as calendaring, study schedules, and research-based note-taking frameworks with direct skill-building in planning, prioritization, and problem solving. With over 20 years of experience as an educator and mentor, I help students develop sustainable strategies that lead to measurable academic growth and increased confidence.
Interview Prep

Interview Prep

With over 20 years as a working professional, I bring extensive real-world experience interviewing for and securing competitive roles across multiple industries. What sets me apart is my background as a professionally trained actor and dancer, which gives me a deep understanding of presence, body language, and vocal delivery. Research consistently shows that a significant portion of communication is nonverbal, and I coach clients on posture, eye contact, tone, pacing, and physical awareness so they project confidence, clarity, and leadership. My approach combines strategic answer development with embodied communication techniques, helping clients feel prepared, grounded, and authentic in high-stakes interviews.
Public Speaking

Public Speaking

I hold a Master’s degree from the University of Colorado and have extensive experience teaching and performing in professional settings. I performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and worked professionally with an improvisational theatre company, experiences that strengthened my skills in vocal clarity, audience engagement, and confident delivery. I help students structure presentations with clear openings, logical progression, and purposeful conclusions while also coaching pacing, presence, and strategies for managing nervousness. My approach builds both preparation skills and performance confidence so students can speak with clarity and authority.
