I recently achieved my PhD in Computer Science where I conducted research in Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Artificial Intelligence. Through my graduate career I have enjoyed working as teaching assistant for Algorithms, Data Structures, and NLP; I have also been the instructor of record for undergraduate NLP. Prior to my PhD, I received a double major in Computer Science and Math.
As a teaching assistant I led weekly labs of around 40 students, and as an instructor I led a class of 70 students. I have also held office hours where I worked 1-1 with students on specific problems. Throughout these experiences, my goal is to find ways to explain concepts in such a way that helps students build a deeper intuition of the material and truly grasp the concepts past a more shallow understanding.
I enjoy guiding students through difficult materials so they can arrive at the light-bulb moment by themselves, and further strengthen their understanding by introducing new problems through slight variations.
