I am a rising freshman at the University of Pennsylvania, where I was selected for the competitive University Scholars honors program. I plan to pursue a pre-med track with a strong foundation in writing, communication, and research. I’ve spent the past two years as a captain on my school’s 60-person speech and debate team, where I led weekly instructional sessions, created lesson plans, and mentored students one-on-one and in small groups--many of whom advanced to final rounds at local and national tournaments. As an Adelante tutor, I work with first-generation students on both English and math, providing individualized support on academic coursework and test prep. Through the National Honor Society, I also tutor students across my high school in SAT prep alongside English and math coursework. I’ve independently coached some peers through their college admissions journey, helping them craft personal statements and supplemental essays, several of whom were accepted to top 20 universities. My tutoring approach centers on building clarity, confidence, and critical thinking, with detailed feedback and supportive guidance tailored to each student’s goals. I’ve worked with high school students ages 14–18 in one-on-one and small group settings, and I’m passionate about helping students grow both academically and personally.
