Hi! I’m Megan — a lifelong educator with a heart for helping students thrive both academically and personally. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Special Education and Middle Grades Social Studies from Elon University, along with a minor in Environmental Education — a reflection of my deep love for nature, the outdoors, and experiential learning. I'm currently in my second year of earning a Master's in Education Policy at the University of Colorado Boulder, where I’m expanding my passion for equity and systemic change in schools.
I began my teaching career in middle school history before moving into high school, where I taught social studies at a restorative justice-focused school. That experience shaped my approach to teaching — one rooted in empathy, critical thinking, and relationship-building. Today, I serve as a special education teacher at a fully online high school in Colorado, supporting students with a wide range of learning needs.
Whether you’re looking for academic support, study skills coaching, or someone who understands how to adapt instruction to individual needs, I bring creativity, patience, and care to every session. I specialize in making learning accessible and enjoyable, helping students build confidence and reach their goals.
Outside of teaching, you’ll find me hiking, camping, or coaching. I’ve coached several sports, including basketball, volleyball, and soccer. I also share my life with two fun-loving dogs and a curious cat — they sometimes make guest appearances during online sessions!
I’d love to support your student in their learning journey. Feel free to reach out with questions or to schedule a session!
