Hi! I'm Dustin! I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Biology (specialization in cellular/molecular biology) and Anthropology. Throughout college, I loved learning about the in's and out's of biology, especially cellular biology and immunology! Despite my love for learning about biology, my passion was taking what I learned in the classroom and teaching my peers. While tutoring, I also worked in a research lab investigating influenza. While working in a lab, I learned that tutoring and mentoring was not a "one-size fits all" endeavor. Working in a lab gave me the opportunity to tutor and mentor many students, from undergraduate students to medical school students who worked in the lab. These students came from different walk's of life, thus developing a diverse set of teaching skills. Additionally, my experience in the lab allows me to introduce real world examples into my lessons.

I have one year of tutoring experience with basic biology and chemistry. Additionally, I have two years of tutoring experience with cellular biology, microbiology, and four years of experience teaching immunology. As a tutor, I have facilitated one on one and group tutoring sessions that encouraged hands on learning and taught study skills that made those I tutored successful on exam day. Currently, I am a PhD student in Immunology and I'm studying type 1 diabetes.

Teaching is my passion! After I finish my graduate degree, it is my goal to become a professor, so I can continue to share my love for the sciences with eager students.
