My name is Edith. I have been working with kids my whole life and love doing it. In 2008 I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts individually structured in elementary education. After graduating I joined the Peace Corps and taught reading in a farming village in Guyana for 2 years. When I returned to the states in 2010, I worked in a head start program until I decided to stay at home to take care of our two daughters.
I taught reading for two years with the Peace Corps.
I graduated in 2008 with a degree individually structured in elementary Ed.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
In 2008 I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in elementary education. I have taken the praxis test and passed elementary education content knowledge and held an initial teaching license for k-6. I have tutored elementary students in reading and ran after school homework help programs in the Peace Corps.
I taught phonics for 2 years in the Peace Corps to kids aged 5-13. I also worked with the teachers and showed them ways to incorporate phonics into reading lessons.
I worked for 4 years in a head start program teaching letter sounds using Fountas and Pinnel and Creative Curriculum.
