I have successfully tutored ADD and ADHD students in math, writing, and standardized test preparation. When working with a student who has difficulty focusing, I approach the subject matter in different ways until I find one that catches their attention and then modify my teaching methods to what works best for that student. I also try to break up tutoring by offering frequent breaks and covering material at the pace the student is absorbing it, so that they stay interested in the new content as we cover it.

My daughter loves Julia! She relates to her on a level that is fun and knowledgeable and completely gets teens. My daughter (16 1/2) was very resistant to a tutor and after the first meeting, she really looks forward to seeing her. Julia is an excellent tutor and my husband and I are extremely grateful that she is working with our son as he prepares for the SAT.
