Hello! My name is Jessica (you may call me Jess).
I hold a dual Bachelor's Degrees in Marketing (with an entrepreneurship focus) and Business Administration & Management from Appalachian State University. In the 11+ years since graduating, I have found myself working on impactful marketing campaign projects, such as contributing to the Denver Department of Public Health and Environment's mental health stigma reduction campaign, "What You Say Matters." I also regularly volunteer at the Rocky Mountain MicroFinance Institute (RMMFI) in my free-time, coaching potential business owners about the ins and outs of starting their own business.
My professional background includes a blend of public health initiatives and creative writing, which enables me to guide students in both academic and personal growth. Over the years, I've had the opportunity to mentor and teach individuals of various ages, ranging from high school students to adults, in one-on-one settings. My approach to tutoring is student-centered, focusing on understanding each individual's needs and tailoring sessions to match their learning style. Whether it's helping a student develop strong writing skills, practice their public speaking, or navigate the intricacies of business and working as an adult, I strive to create a safe, supportive, and engaging environment that fosters active learning and confidence.
I have extensive writing experience, which extends beyond my professional career and content creation; I am currently writing a science fiction novel, which has further honed my skills in creative expression and critical thinking. I am dedicated to helping students excel, whether they are seeking to improve their academic performance, develop new skills, or gain confidence in their abilities.
