I offer individualized, high-quality learning experiences that improve attitude, motivation, self-esteem, and confidence inside and outside the classroom for students in grades kindergarten-sixth grade. I offer support in reading, math, writing, homework, and study skills.

I have been teaching in Denver Public Schools for the past five years. In my time there, I received training that taught me best practices for teaching math. I have been trained in number sense, place value, operations, and problem-solving. My work was also aligned to the Common Core State Standards. I have spent lots of time analyzing what students need to be able to do to achieve grade-level standards, and I also understand how to excel or catch students up depending on their needs.
I love teaching English. Reading and writing are very closely related and both of these subjects support each other. There are five components to reading: phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. Reading builds upon itself and it can be very challenging to become a fluent reader if you have a gap in any of these five components. I have been trained on the best ways to teach reading, I have taught guided reading, ran reading and writers workshops and have tutored student individually and in small groups. In my time teaching, I also taught
