My approach to LSAT/GRE/GMAT prep starts with two basic concepts: What are the basic skills needed to succeed and what are the moving parts that make up the passages and questions. Once we have solid footing on those to fronts, THEN we can dive in head-first into the questions and answer choices.
When that structure is clear, the work stops feeling chaotic and instead becomes controlled and balanced.

Instead of focusing on "what the passage says", we focus on "what the author is actually doing", sentence by sentence.

Instead of diving into the answer choices applying a one-size-fits all approach, we focus on knowing exactly how our brains need to interact with the passage and answer choices for each question.

Instead of only focusing on "which answer choice is good", we also train in how the answer choices are mostly designed to fail.

All of this removes unnecessary decision-making and reduces overthinking, especially on test day.

The LSAT, GRE and GMAT aren’t about tricks. They're about knowing how to attack the passages, what the question is actually asking you to do, and doing only that.

That’s how we train.

GMAT

GMAT

The GMAT mirrors the Business School experience in many ways. Students are expected to be fully prepared, to think and act quickly, and to basically make correct decisions and judgments. This is why the Quant section does not allow for a calculator and why it limits you to three revised answers. And this is what my Quant coaching will get you ready for! Also, in the real world, preventable mistakes often cost people and companies sizable amounts of money. As a result, the Verbal portion is specifically designed to see which students are careful and precise readers and writers. My Verbal prep helps you become just that…a careful and precise reader and writer who knows how to answer the GMAT's questions correctly.
GRE

GRE

I give all of my GRE students a personalized A-Z prep plan, with most of the needed materials included. But in every case, it starts with a command over the basics! My approach to tutoring for the quant portion of the GRE is actually pretty simple: First, here are the “A, B, Cs” and “1, 2, 3s” that we need to know and how to use them. Second, here is how we de-code GRE questions to make sense of them so that we can use the appropriate skills we just learned/polished. Third, practice, practice, practice… While the skills for the verbal side are quite different, my approach to the GRE verbal still centers on knowing the skills first, then on how to apply them. You HAVE to know how to read a passage correctly. You HAVE to know how to break down a sentence. And you HAVE to know your way around an argument. Give me a chance to show you how it all comes together, you will not be disappointed!
LSAT

LSAT

My approach to LSAT prep will get you ready for the LSAT and beyond. As you prepare for the test, you will learn a repeatable system for thinking like a lawyer and performing under pressure. Students typically gain up to 20 points within six weeks of training. Let’s schedule an initial phone/video call today and start to unlock your test-day control.
Reading

Reading

The reading industry is strange indeed. Sooo many experts, sooo much money invested and sooo little results. How can this be? Well, it's because none of the “University Approved” methods work and no student or parent wants to accept defeat and give up! I get it, that makes sense. But now, we can do better. My homemade approach is based on techniques that flow straight out of the basics and allow students to literally actively ATTACK what they are reading. I have spent years developing and refining the approach and it can work wonders for any one who is at least 13-14 years old. All you need to do…is give it a chance!

Great Teacher, Surpassed my score goals

Scott is an awesome tutor. He’s straightforward and very supportive. Ultimately, how well you do on the GRE is up to you. But having someone in your corner to point out what you need to be focusing on is key. Scott really provides the right resources and points you in the right direction. And he just generally kept morale up, which is invaluable. I got a better score than I even expected. Can’t recommend him more highly!
