I hold a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Equity and Educational Leadership and an Education Specialist (Ed.S.) degree, and I am a licensed school psychologist with active licenses in Colorado, New Mexico, and Michigan. Over the course of more than 20 years working in schools, I have specialized in psychoeducational assessment, learning disabilities, and supporting students who learn differently — including those with dyslexia, ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, and other conditions that qualify for IEP or 504 services. I am also a bilingual practitioner fluent in English and Spanish, with extensive experience serving multilingual learners and their families.

Throughout my career I have worked with students ranging from preschool through high school in a variety of settings, including public schools, charter schools, and private practice. My work has spanned one-on-one assessment and intervention, small group instruction, IEP team collaboration, and direct tutoring support for students with reading, writing, and executive functioning challenges. I have supervised school psychology interns and coached families on how to advocate effectively within the special education process. My approach is strengths-based and culturally responsive — I meet students where they are, explain concepts in plain language, and build the kind of trust that helps reluctant learners engage.

As a tutor, I draw on my deep knowledge of how learning differences affect academic performance to tailor sessions to each student's profile. Whether a family needs help navigating an IEP, a student needs targeted reading support, or a bilingual learner needs instruction delivered in Spanish, I bring both the clinical expertise and the warmth to make a real difference.

Approved Subjects

ADHD

ADHD

As a licensed school psychologist with more than 20 years of experience, I have worked extensively with students diagnosed with ADHD across all grade levels, from early elementary through high school. My background includes conducting comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations that assess attention, executive functioning, processing speed, and working memory — the core areas most affected by ADHD — which gives me a uniquely clinical understanding of how this diagnosis shows up differently in each student. In my direct work with students, I have supported children and adolescents with ADHD through one-on-one sessions focused on executive functioning skills, including organization, time management, task initiation, and study strategies tailored to how their brains actually work. I am trained in evidence-based approaches that go beyond traditional tutoring — helping students build compensatory strategies, self-monitoring habits, and the kind of structured routines that make a lasting difference in academic performance. I have collaborated closely with IEP and 504 teams, teachers, and families to ensure that support is consistent across home and school settings.
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

I have worked with students on the autism spectrum throughout my 20-year career as a licensed school psychologist, supporting children from preschool through high school in both school-based and one-on-one settings. My experience includes conducting comprehensive evaluations that identify autism-related learning profiles, as well as developing and implementing individualized support plans that address social communication, sensory sensitivities, executive functioning, and academic skill development. I take a strengths-based approach, building on each student's interests and learning style to create structured, predictable sessions that reduce anxiety and maximize engagement. I have also worked closely with families and IEP teams to ensure that strategies developed during tutoring sessions carry over into the classroom and home environment.
Dyslexia

Dyslexia

I have specialized training in dyslexia assessment and intervention, with a strong foundation in understanding how phonological processing differences affect reading acquisition and written expression across grade levels. Through my work as a licensed school psychologist, I have evaluated hundreds of students for dyslexia and related reading disorders, identifying the specific processing profiles that underlie their struggles and translating those findings into targeted, practical strategies. In tutoring sessions I draw on structured, multisensory techniques that help students build decoding skills, reading fluency, and written language confidence in ways that traditional classroom instruction often cannot provide. My goal is to help students and families understand that dyslexia is not a barrier to success — it simply requires the right approach, and finding that approach is exactly what I do.
Executive Functioning

Executive Functioning

I have extensive experience supporting students with executive functioning challenges across my 20-year career as a licensed school psychologist, working one-on-one and collaboratively with IEP and 504 teams to develop practical strategies for students who struggle with organization, planning, time management, task initiation, and working memory. My work includes evaluating executive functioning profiles through comprehensive psychoeducational assessments and translating those findings into concrete, individualized interventions that students can apply immediately in academic settings. In tutoring sessions I help students build systems and routines that work with their brain rather than against it — from breaking assignments into manageable steps and using visual scheduling tools to developing self-monitoring strategies that build independence over time. I have supported students from elementary through high school age, and I am particularly skilled at helping students and families understand the neurological basis of executive functioning difficulties so that frustration gives way to strategies that actually work.
