Hi There! I am a marketing consultant and computer tutor serving women entrepreneurs and business owners via the SBA-funded, non-profit Women's Business Center in my local area. I would like to help YOU increase your skills, marketability, and ability to work from home! We'll use Wyzant's online classroom and you'll be doing the work with guidance from me. Hi There! I am a marketing consultant and computer tutor serving women entrepreneurs and business owners via the SBA-funded, non-profit Women's Business Center in my local area. I would like to help YOU increase your skills, marketability, and ability to work from home! We'll use Wyzant's online classroom and you'll be doing the work with guidance from me. I have 25+ years of experience in graphic design, marketing and computer use.

I can show you how to use your Mac or PC, how to set up a free WordPress website or online shop, how to resize and prepare your photos using free apps, and teach you marketing best practices. I love working with the Law of Attraction and infuse it into marketing principles to attract the clients you most desire. So if that's your thing too we are a great fit :)

I am a patient tutor and my superpower is explaining things in easy-to-understand, normal people language. I specialize in teaching beginners, mature adults, and seniors. Whether you are just learning how to find and organize stuff on your computer, or defining your niche markets and crafting your marketing strategy to reach them, I look forward to helping you in Wyzant's fun, online classroom!

I also provide clients with positive mindset exercises to help deal with the overwhelm that can come with starting a business. So if you could use a little help with refocusing your thoughts from negative to positive, please do reach out to me.

I am an award-winning Toastmaster who has presented workshops for orgs including Toastmasters, PSRAR (Palm Springs Regional Assoc. of Realtors), ABWA (American Business Women's Assoc.) and CVWBC (Coachella Valley Women's Business Center). For 2 years I hosted an online networking mixer that was streamed live on YouTube and Google+. Currently I am loving life as a freelance marketing consultant and computer tutor working from home in SoCal. Woot!

Yes, professional websites *can* be easy for beginners to create and maintain! You don't have to know how to write code to make a great website - you just need to use the right tools for the job. I've been teaching folks how to create and maintain their own websites for about 6 years now. I can guide you through using easy website builders found on sites like WordPress, GoDaddy and Wix.

Meilani knows so much about computers! She taught me valuable critical beginning steps for building my upcoming food blog! She filled my head with so much knowledgeable information in such a short period of time. Very impressive! She’s easy to talk to and not judgmental at all. I was hesitant about an online tutor at first, but I’m happy I went for it! I got more than I knew I needed. I’m certainly going to be in touch whenever I feel stuck again. She helped me think about more than just the how-to of the website, but it’s purpose and how to engage a visitor to the site. I’ve got a lot of work to do to figure out what I’m going to do to re-work my copy and organize my ideas abd I feel like I know how to create the web pages when I’ve got my thoughts organized.

We worked on Mac shortcuts and overview. She helped me better understand the big picture. She taught me to organize my mac, move docs from one account to another, and use shortcuts. she is very patient and excellent at breaking down the process. I will use her again once I practice what I have learned so far.

I was having difficulties learning Adobe Lightroom and I found Melanie to be a very helpful tutor.I was having challenges in understanding the file system Lightroom uses for photographs as well as the nuances in understanding the processes in developing photographs. I am able to do some of this on my own now thanks to Melanie and I would definitely use her again.

Very patient and thorough

I have very little web design and Photoshop background. Everything I've learned, I've learned through YouTube Videos. Unfortunately, that process takes hours and I can't ask questions. Meilani helped me accomplish specific tasks in our sessions while raising critical issues to think about as I move forward. Not to mention she's prompt and follows up immediately. You should definitely give her a try!
