Hello, I am Richard, a Californian-born college student; who is finishing his English education degree in Fall 2021. I am TESOL Certified; I completed the certification while abroad on a small island known as Taiwan. I enjoy history a lot, so that is a side field I can aid with if need be. My primary area would be English. Currently, I am in America for a temporary stay as I am going back to the Island later on. If you are outside the US, I am more than willing to have weird hours for a video call class or be asynchronous. Adaptability, I would say, is where I am strongest. So, if you are in a strange circumstance, I am willing to adapt within reason.

I prefer to maintain a relaxed environment for students. Too much stress on the matter can wreck someone mentally. I do care about results, so if need be, I will try to push you further. The end goal is to improve the students' abilities and make them successful. A core part of this philosophy is to have the students be able to solve it themselves. I rely more on a lecture and cooperative style when it comes to this. There will be lesson planning, but improvisation is something I can do. I also would be using your works to understand the shortfalls. Seeing the failures is the first thing I would want to know so I can plan accordingly.

I have taken and passed the required classes, in college, with high marks. I get on the honor roll often while taking these classes. I have received and completed the TESOL Certificate while abroad in Taiwan. I Spent my community college time in communications to foster an understanding of speaking ability. In Chico, I focused on my written abilities.
