I am an articulate, organized and experienced clinical Microbiologist who has been retired for less than a year. I am a public speaker and published author in my field. I desire tutoring assignments to assist student understanding and appreciation for this most beautiful of sciences, Microbiology.
I have previous tutoring/teaching experience in ESL, basic microbiology and infectious disease etiology. Venues include universities such as National University, the University of Kansas and community centers such as the Asian Community center in Sacramento.
I welcome all inquires and will work with parents and students to assure all goals are met or exceeded. Thank you. I have previous tutoring/teaching
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have broad knowledge of all areas of Microbiology, including Bacteriology, Mycology, Mycobacteriology, Parasitology, Molecular diagnostics, and public health Microbiology applications. I have experience in clinical supervision, clinical bench work and industrial technical and customer support.
I have had 40+ years of work experience in clinical and allied fields of Microbiology and Infectious disease diagnostics. I hold National ASCP and California Department of Public Health CLS certifications. I have California Community College instructor certification in Biological sciences. I am a published author for diagnostic Microbiology trade publications, and over 1 dozen case studies and articles.
I have been a quest lecturer for class at National University, Sacramento, on Sexually Transmitted Disease Detection and Diagnosis in 2000.
I was a guest lecturer at University of Kansas on Infectious Disease, Past Present and Future, from 2004-2006.
I have recently been a presenter of a series of 3 lectures on Microbiology and Public Health at the Asian Community Center in Sacramento, from 2011-2012.
