Bio

Hi! I’m Caroline and I’m a UCLA graduate (go Bruins) with a degree in Applied Mathematics and a minor in Creative Writing. I went to high school in Orange County, where I graduated with an IB diploma and a 1590 on the SATs. I chose my math as my major because, although I was always that kid who loved every class, my heart always lied in riddles, and studying math is the closest thing to being a professional puzzle-solver!

Hi! I’m Caroline and I’m a UCLA graduate (go Bruins) with a degree in Applied Mathematics and a minor in Creative Writing. I went to high school in Orange County, where I graduated with an IB diploma and a 1590 on the SATs. I chose my math as my major because, although I was always that kid who loved every class, my heart always lied in riddles, and studying math is the closest thing to being a professional puzzle-solver!

My first tutoring experience was a high school internship with Disney’s G.O.A.L.S, where I recorded topical educational videos for K-12 students to support their education during COVID. Later, I did college-level math subject tutoring through Ace tutors, specifically multivariable calculus and statistics. At the same time, I was president of the Writer's Den, a UCLA club where we offered free creative writing tutoring to local elementary, middle and high schools as community outreach. Currently, in addition to independent tutoring, I also do K-12 virtual group sessions as a High Dosage Tutor with tutor.com. My approach as a tutor is to meet the pace and learning style of the student, as I've seen first hand that everyone processes information differently. I also believe the first step any tutor has to take is to ignite passion within their pupil. I know math isn't most people's favorite subject, and many other's dislike having to read/write. But I believe much of this comes down to the clinical way these fields are often taught. I hope we can discuss how I can help you/your child on their educational journey!

I have experience in Algebra 1, Trigonometry, and collegiate level Algebra theory. I have experience tutoring at all grade levels.

Calculus

I have taken AP, IBHL, and collegiate-level Calculus, both single and multivariable. I received a 5 out of 5 on the AP Calculus test.
Precalculus

I have experience in Pre-Calculus, IB Higher level calculus, and multivariable calculus. In high school, I received a 5 on the AP Calculus exam. I've also completed Wyzant's Precalculus subject qualification exam.
SAT Math

SAT Math

I have an Applied Mathematics Degree from UCLA, and in 2020, I received a 1590/1600 on the SATs, as well as National Merit recognition for my score on the PSAT.

In 2020, I received a 1590/1600 on the SATs, as well as National Merit recognition for my score on the PSAT. I have also passed Wyzant's qualifying exams for SAT Reading and SAT Math tutoring.
