My Bachelor's and Master's degrees in French focused especially on language education. I studied at a French university, have lived in several regions of France, and have traveled through other French-speaking countries like Canada and Cameroon. I have taught French at the high school, community college, and university levels, including French IB. I have also tutored French in-person and online for several years. I truly love all aspects of studying French, from literature to culture, to the intricacies of grammar. My goal as a language educator is to use creativity and realistic, practical applications to help students develop mastery of the language while enjoying the learning process.

Education: I have a CA teaching credential for world languages, which includes an English Learner Authorization, and an MA in French with an emphasis on linguistics for second language acquisition and language pedagogy. I also have 36 additional graduate-level credits in linguistics, including ESOL pedagogy methods, English phonetics, and phonology. Experience: I have worked as a private ESOL tutor for over 5 years, and have taught ESOL as a classroom teacher in the US and abroad, including classes that exclusively focused on speaking and conversation. I have worked with high schoolers, college students, and adults from a wide variety of language backgrounds, especially Mandarin, Arabic, Korean, Spanish, and French. I am also a classically trained singer, so I have had formal training in the physical mechanics of producing American English vowels, consonants, word stress, and prosody, and I have coached music students in the diction of British and American English as well as French and Italian.

I have a BA in French Education, an MA in French and am a credentialed K-12 teacher. I have lived in France and traveled in French-speaking areas of Canada and Africa. As a high school teacher, I taught French I through French IB HL. In addition to working with K-12 students, I have taught French at the community college and university level.
