I have been a middle school teacher for 25 years. I have taught all subjects at various levels. I have experience teaching general education students as well as GATE, ESL, and SpEd students.

I have my CA multiple subject credential as well as my mild to moderate disabilities credential.

I have taught middle school for 25 years. My most recent experience has been teaching Common Core in a self-contained class, meaning I taught all the subjects. I worked with students with autism at the 6th, 7th and 8th grade levels.

I passed the RICA, which is a required test for credentialing in California. It tests an instructor's knowledge and ability to apply theory to teaching reading.

I have worked with Special Needs students for the past 4 years. I had a self-contained 6th, 7th, and 8th grade class for students with autism.

Successfully working with students depends on their trusting you and feeling comfortable working with you and asking for help. Therefore, it is my experience that building rapport is one of the most important keys to success. In addition to rapport, it is also necessary to establish a baseline. What does the student know and what still needs to be taught and practiced?
