I have over 20 years of experience working with students across secondary and postsecondary education, with a focus on academic tutoring, writing, and college admissions strategy. I hold a Ph.D. in History from the University of St Andrews, as well as two master’s degrees from the same institution, one in History and one in Middle Eastern and Central Asian Security Studies. I completed my undergraduate education in the United States with a double major in History and Political Science. My academic training in research, analytical writing, critical reading, and historical thinking directly informs my work tutoring students in history, writing, and humanities courses.

My teaching and tutoring experience includes one-on-one academic support, classroom instruction, and individualized college counseling. I have taught and supported students ranging from middle school through graduate-level applicants in one-on-one settings. In addition to tutoring academic subjects such as AP European History, AP World History, and AP U.S. History, and in writing, I have worked for more than two decades in university admissions and advising, including as an admissions officer. This allows me to tutor students not only on course content and skills, but also on how academic performance, course rigor, and writing fit into the broader context of competitive college applications.

My approach is structured, student-centered, and strategy-driven. I focus on helping students understand material deeply rather than memorizing answers, and I adapt my methods to each student’s learning style, goals, and academic level. Whether I am helping a student strengthen analytical essays, prepare for AP exams, or build long-term academic and admissions plans, my goal is to provide clarity, confidence, and practical skills that students can carry forward independently.

I have over 20 years of experience in college admissions and counseling, including work as a former admissions officer. I have guided 800+ students through the full college application process, from academic and course planning to essays, recommendations, and final application strategy. My experience includes advising students applying to competitive universities in the United States, the United Kingdom, and other international systems. I focus on helping students present authentic, well-positioned applications that align academic performance, interests, and long-term goals.
Essay Writing

Essay Writing

I hold two undergraduate degrees, two master’s degrees, and a Ph.D., and throughout my academic career, I have researched, structured, and written extensive analytical essays across multiple disciplines. My training required sustained work in argumentative writing, evidence-based analysis, and scholarly research at increasingly advanced levels. In addition to my own academic writing experience, I have spent over 20 years supporting students with essay development at the middle school, high school, undergraduate, and graduate levels. I focus on helping students develop strong thesis statements, logical structure, clear argumentation, and effective use of evidence, while strengthening clarity, organization, and revision skills.
Government & Politics

Government & Politics

I hold a Ph.D. in History and have completed two master's degrees in History and another in International Relations. I also completed my undergraduate studies with a double major in History and Political Science. My academic work has focused extensively on political systems, international relations, and the historical foundations of modern government. I have more than 20 years of experience helping students analyze political institutions, policy debates, and comparative political systems while strengthening their analytical writing and argumentation skills. I work with high school and college students studying government and politics courses, including U.S. Government, comparative politics, and related social science subjects. I have lived, studied, and worked in Iran, the UK, and Russia, and have traveled to China and Mexico on several occasions.

Personal Statements

I have over 20 years of experience in college admissions and counseling, including serving as an admissions officer. I have guided hundreds of students in developing personal statements for undergraduate, graduate, and international applications, helping them identify authentic themes and present their experiences with clarity and purpose. My approach focuses on narrative structure, voice, and strategic positioning while maintaining each student’s individuality. I help students move beyond generic essays to produce thoughtful, well-crafted statements that align with institutional expectations and holistic review standards.

Thesis Writing

I hold a Ph.D. in History and have extensive experience guiding students through thesis development at the high school, undergraduate, and graduate levels. Over the course of my academic career, I have researched and written two undergraduate capstone theses, two master’s-level dissertations, and a doctoral dissertation, giving me firsthand experience with long-form academic research and argumentation. I work closely with students to refine research questions, develop strong and defensible thesis statements, structure complex arguments, and integrate sources effectively. My focus is on clarity, analytical depth, and revision strategy to ensure students produce rigorous, well-organized academic work.
