Hey I'm Eric! I am originally from Los Angeles, California, and am currently a freshman at the University of Kansas studying aerospace engineering. Throughout high school, I took a strong sequence of math and science courses, earning A grades in Honors Algebra 1, Honors Algebra 2, Honors Geometry, Honors Precalculus, AP Statistics, AP Calculus AB, and AP Physics 1. I have also completed Calculus II at the university level with an A. Being fresh out of high school and now using these concepts in college, I remember the material well and understand how it is taught, as well as where students commonly get stuck.

I have four years of experience providing one-on-one tutoring, beginning during my time in high school. Most of my work has been individualized, which has allowed me to adjust my teaching style to fit each student’s needs, pace, and personality. I have worked with students from 1st through 12th grade, helping with math subjects, homework support, and overall academic organization. I also have significant experience working with younger children, which has helped me develop a patient, encouraging approach and the ability to explain concepts in a clear and simple way.

My goal as a tutor is to help students feel more confident and motivated in their learning. Parents often notice that their children become more comfortable asking questions, more willing to engage with their schoolwork, and less intimidated by challenging material. I focus on building strong foundations, breaking concepts down step by step, and creating a supportive environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes and learning from them. I care deeply about helping students not only improve academically, but also develop confidence in their ability to succeed.
