Hello, I’m Holly. I have over five years of teaching and tutoring experience, both in the classroom and at an after school learning center. I have worked with middle school, high school, and college students, as well as with adult professionals learning English as a second language.
A bit about me and my academic and professional backgrounds. For starters, I have two Ivy League degrees. The first is a bachelor's degree in Anthropology from Harvard University. The second is a master's degree in International Educational Development & Education in Emergencies from Columbia University’s graduate school of education (this is a master’s degree in looking at the education sector in international development efforts, with a focus on education's outcomes, roles, policies, and practices in humanitarian and conflict contexts).
I have lived and worked in six countries over the last 15 years. This has included being a Peace Corps middle school English teacher in Liberia, a conflict analyst and human rights officer in Kenya, and an archeologist in the Levant area.
Of note, before transitioning to consulting on public policy research and advocacy during the pandemic, I was in charge of community engagement, outreach, and publications for a semi-governmental think tank focused on community development in the Middle East. Here, I worked one-on-one with local and international grantees and visiting scholars to help them translate their research findings into accessible public policy briefs, white papers, academic journal articles, presentations, and blogs (I even interviewed them on our podcast!).
I look forward to working with you to achieve your goals!
