For students interested in French tutoring:

I am extremely passionate about French! So much so, that I actually lived in Paris, France for a total of more than four years. While there, I was first a student and then worked in the tourism industry for multiple years. I recently moved back to California (winter 2020), so I have current and relevant knowledge about life in France, French work culture and overall general culture. I have been studying the language seriously since I started high school way back in 2005 and consider myself a true Francophile.

I have been giving private French lessons for about ten years, and also have experience teaching French at the university level. I taught a French 201 (Intermediate French) class at Sonoma State University as a lecturer. Previously, as a Masters student at San Francisco State University, I was a Graduate Teaching Assistant who taught French 101 (beginning French) classes over the course of three semesters. When I attended Sonoma State University, I taught groups of undergraduate students who were in lower division French classes, leading them in conversation classes I designed myself. I have taught French to elementary school, high school, and college aged students and also to adults who are just wishing to learn the language for fun or to achieve personal goals.

I have tutored multiple students in ESL from all types of backgrounds, cultures, and language levels. Three years ago, I taught English in Paris, France to groups of middle school and high school students. I created all of my own lesson plans and taught the classes by myself. I also did occasional private tutoring for certain students while in France. More recently, I taught English to refugees who had just moved to the US. I have also taken TESOL classes to specifically learn how to teach ESL, and received my TESOL certificate. I have tutored younger students as well as adults in ESL. I am a native speaker of English but have also studied French for 9 years, so I understand what it is like to learn a foreign language and can relate to problems you might be encountering.

French is my passion! I have been studying the French language and culture for over 15 years now, most recently receiving my Masters in French at San Francisco State University. I lived in Paris, France for a total of more than 4 years (I returned to California November 2020). While there, I was a student, then intern and also a working professional. My time in France gave me great insight into the French culture and also helped me perfect my level of French. I have tutored students of all ages and levels, from elementary school to well into adulthood, in French for over 10 years. I have taught French classes as a lecturer at the university level as well. Best Tutor I have ever HAD !!

Honestly, she was the best tutor I've ever had. She knew exactly what I was talking about and made my own worksheets to practice on! She was so sweet and I feel that I have improved with my French. I love her and would recommend her to anyone I know. 10/10 and will be using her again in the future!
