I’m Jess! I graduated from UC Berkeley with my Bachelor’s 2022 with a degree in Integrative Biology with a focus on Ecology, Evolution, and Organismal Biology. I completed my Master’s degree in Forensic and Biological Anthropology at Mercyhurst University in 2025. I enjoy learning more than anything, and it is my goal to inspire others to love learning as well.
During my time as a graduate student I worked as a teaching assistant in graduate and undergraduate classes such as Human Osteology, Biological Profile, Introduction to Biological Anthropology and Introduction to Forensic Anthropology. My favorite duty as a teaching assistant was to host office hours, where I would work with students one-on-one, or in small groups to better understand topics they were struggling with. As someone who quickly jumped to feeling embarrassed when I struggled with a subject in school, I pride myself in my ability to help students with difficult topics while being sensitive to any emotions that may arise from needing to ask for that help.
I grew up in a rural community, and I recognize that a person’s value and intelligence go way beyond their innate ability to succeed academically. I also recognize that families in different circumstances may have varying levels of support that they can offer their student. I am happy to help accommodate you when possible.
