I have taught English Composition and Creative Writing at Oregon State University, and have experience tutoring English, reading comprehension, and writing for students from beginning readers to adult students, and well as experience tutoring ESL. I have also assisted students in preparing for the English, Reading, and Writing sections of the SAT/ACT exam, and have helped students perfect their essays for college applications. I'm a professional fiction writer with an MFA in Creative Writing and a B.S. in Creative Writing and Critique. I have always done well academically, enjoy helping others learn and grow, and love working with students of all ages.

I believe in taking an individualized approach to learning, in accessing each student's strengths and areas needing improvement in order to comprehensively expand their reading and writing skills.

For two years I participated in Reading Partners, a tutoring program for beginning to intermediate readers in elementary school. The tutors worked one-on-one with students to help them improve their fluency, vocabulary, word recognition, and reading comprehension. Several students I worked with tested above their grade level and out of the program.

I'm also available to tutor adult students in subjects such as ESL, English, Literature, Essay Writing, Creative Writing, and Technical Writing, and in computer skills such as Web Design, Graphic Design, and Photoshop, with 9+ years experience in the interactive design industry.
