Hello!
My name is Zoe. I am a recent graduate of Queen Mary University of London where I received my Master's in History this past year. My dissertation focused on the political representations of British Eugenics though my courses covered near all aspects of the interwar period across Europe. Before my studies led me abroad I attended the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. There I studied on a breadth of topics from the classics to Latinos in the American South West. There, my primary area of focus was European History and secondary being American History. I also took a great deal of Political Science courses which allows me to attach modern relevant significance to historic events.
I understand that people are different learners. I also understand that History is not the most thrilling subject for everyone. In my experience as a student participating in countless study groups I feel like the best way to learn something is to open a discussion about the topic. Learning becomes much more accessible when strict memorization gives way to conversation.
In this way I hope to inspire you or your child to embrace and gain interest in history as not only a school subject but a living story that grows and develops as time elapses. Though some memorization of keys dates, people and places will always be necessary, the prose of history does not have to be as monotonous, a change in approach may be your key to success.
