Hi Everyone, I hold a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience, yet my academic background is quite diverse. In the past, some of my extracurricular activities consisted of being a Mathematical Biology Research Assistant investigating hair follicle stem cells regarding hair-loss therapies, in which I computationally analyzed data and created mathematical models to predict these cells’ differentiation and proliferation. To further apply my knowledge, I decided to take on Mathematical Modeling Contests to showcase my skills on an academic level through researching an original problem, such as predicting fungi growth duration in specific climates. Up until now, I have constantly taken on and practiced new academic subjects to be knowledgeable and versatile in the scientific field. Currently, I am pursuing a Master in Science in Computational Applied Mathematics to continue to expand my knowledge in computational and mathematical methods towards biological applications, hence the term Systems Biology.
In the past, I’ve mentored and tutored students from grades K-12 in all STEM subjects, varying from one-on-one to group settings via in-person and online formats. Previously, I have been a UC Irvine Math Circle Mentor, where I would guide students in either one-on-one or group settings through mathematical, computational, and biological interdisciplinary activities. As a tutor and mentor, I took the teaching approach to enable the students to learn materials through their interests; if they were interested in pizza, we would carry out learning objectives using pizza as an example so that they could fully grasp the idea.
For the past six years, I have always been eager to teach in different environments and find new, effective strategies that ensure success for students. Personally, I believe students learn effectively when their interests are used, as this way of learning guarantees academic success in students. My focus is to make sure my students succeed in their subject/s of interest. I look forward to helping out!

Neuroscience

I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience from the University of California, Riverside. Some neuroscience specific courses I've taken in the past are Neuropharmacology, Systems Neuroscience, Behavioral Control Systems, Cognitive Neuroscience of Memory and Consciousness, Neurobiology of Learning and Memory, Cellular Neuroscience: Membrane & Synaptic Phenomena, Computational Neuroscience Laboratory: Introduction to Brain Modeling Techniques, Developmental Neuroscience, and Human Neuroanatomy. In addition, I have competently applied theory onto application through neuroscience laboratory environments on campus, with an emphasis in computational neuroscience.
