I teach the SAT, ACT, math ( algebra, algebra 2, geometry, trigonometry, pre-calculus ) FULL-TIME seven days a week. This is not a part time gig on the side or some extra income side thing. I have personally taught more than 3000 students over 9 years. I have taught in classrooms and one-on-one lessons. Since my full-time job is teaching, I am very good at this!

I have personally taken more than 40 SAT exams and 30 ACT exams so I know what is on these tests and how to properly solve them.

I have a Bachelor's Degree in Cognitive Psychology & Education from the University of California at Berkeley. What that means is I understand student thinking, memory, attention, language, problem-solving, and learning at a level far beyond other tutors.

I am a professional credentialed teacher with a Teaching Credential from the University of California at Davis, and taught middle school as well as high school biology, math, and AP Computer Science in the Bay Area.

THE TUTORING:

My tutoring is not just where a student asks a question, then I show them the solution. That's a talking textbook - not teaching nor tutoring.

Real Tutoring:
1) I will ANALYZE and DIAGNOSE what you are doing WRONG in your approach and thinking, and make corrections. Most students don't know what they are doing wrong. In fact, most students think they got the questions right and are surprised when they get them wrong.
2) I will check / test / assess student knowledge by drilling and giving practice questions. Most students think "Oh Yeah, I know how to do this"; when they really don't.
3) I also do lesson planning and create specialized teaching materials and teach new concepts to the student
4) I will review material already covered to make sure the student has a solid understanding
5) I will make sure you learn the RIGHT WAY and WRONG WAY to solve every question. Even my explanations are adjusted in real-time.
