I'm Cecilia. My passion for and love of math began in my high school geometry class and continued in college with my math professor. Both teachers had a passion for, and deep understanding of math. My college professor created his own unique games and methods of making math understandable and fun for all ages and types of learners. Professor Paige shared his passion, games and methods of making math understandable and fun with me. I want to share them with you! My proven ability for discovering students' varying learning styles and designing activities ensuring each student's unique academic needs are met works best one-on-one. Tutoring allows me to meet the needs of one student at a time, giving that student my undivided attention. I enjoy helping others understand math.

I've taught math at junior colleges, public elementary schools and private elementary schools. While I have taught reading, writing and mathematics to students in grades 3, 4, 6, 7, and 8, in classrooms of 10 - 32 students, I enjoy being able to plan and focus individual lessons, especially in mathematics. One-on-one tutoring allows the student to feel comfortable asking and answering questions and allows the tutor to catch errors before they become routine and more quickly notice and close gaps in understanding. We both get the ultimate experience.

I have a BA in Elementary Education and a MS in Teaching Mathematics from University of Illinois at Chicago. I've taught math at Andrew Jackson Language Academy, University of Chicago Laboratory Schools, UICC Saturday College Programs, Project Canal Summer Programs, Triton College and Kennedy King College. I've taught and tutored 3 - 50+ year old students. I've taught and tutored Basic Math, TIMS(Teaching Integrated Math and Science), Pre-algebra, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, Quantitative Literacy and Liberal Arts Mathematics.
