I’m a UC San Diego graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Public Health and a minor in Biology, and I’ve spent the past several years helping students succeed in biology through both university-level and private tutoring. During my time at UCSD, I worked as a Content Tutor and was later promoted to Lead Tutor, where I not only supported students in subjects like Human Physiology, Genetics, Neuroanatomy, and Metabolic Biochemistry, but also trained and mentored new tutors. I’ve worked with students ranging from high school to upper-division college courses, both one-on-one and in group settings, and I understand how to tailor my approach to each student’s needs and background.

My teaching style is rooted in clarity, engagement, and relatability. I specialize in breaking down complex concepts using easy-to-understand analogies and real-world comparisons. For example, I might explain cellular transport as a nightclub with bouncers or metabolic pathways as highway systems—helping students visualize and retain tough material. In online sessions, I use my iPad as a whiteboard to draw diagrams and walk through processes step by step in real time. This creates an interactive environment where students stay engaged and develop a deeper understanding of the material.
