I graduated from Multnomah University in 2010 with a Bachelors in Leadership. Completing my Bachelors degree was always a goal of mine. What I did not know when I undertook the challenge was that I would fall in love with learning. After graduating, I immediately enrolled in a Masters program which I completed at Grace College. I earned a MA in Ministry Studies. Following the completion of that program I decided I wanted to become a Special Education teacher, so I enrolled at Concordia University, earning a Master of Education with an emphasis in Curriculum and Instruction.

With the educational goals complete, I applied to teach as a university intern with the Los Angeles Unified School District where I was hired to teach Special Education. As a university intern, I simultaneously enrolled in the Education Specialist credentialing program at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. This was a two year program where I satisfied the requirements to apply for my K-12 Multiple Subjects Mild-Moderate credential which I received in 2018. I also completed a two year teacher induction program through LAUSD to clear my credential. During this time frame, I completed a two year volunteer program with Teach for America and Americorp which is also a volunteer program, concurrently.

I taught with LAUSD for 5 years. In addition, I worked for Professional Tutors of America for two years. I went on to work with Carpinteria Unified School District where I taught Special Day classes after the pandemic for one year. I am currently employed as a Education Specialist Itinerant with Blue Ridge Academy. My teaching experience is with K-Middle school students in a classroom setting. I am currently working in one on one and online.
