I’m a UC Irvine graduate with a strong academic background in science and mathematics, and over three years of professional experience working in a biotech research laboratory. My education and career required a deep understanding of chemistry, biology, algebra, and data analysis, as well as the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and accurately. Working in a fast-paced lab environment strengthened my problem-solving skills and reinforced the importance of building concepts step by step, which is the same approach I bring to tutoring.

I have experience tutoring students in middle school, high school, and early college-level courses, primarily in one-on-one settings. I focus on math, chemistry, and biology, including foundational skills, homework support, exam preparation, and building confidence in challenging subjects. My teaching style is patient, structured, and adaptable. I take time to understand how each student learns, then adjust my explanations using visuals, real-world examples, and guided practice. I prioritize clarity and comprehension over memorization so students feel prepared to tackle problems independently.

As both a former student and a working scientist, I understand how overwhelming these subjects can feel when gaps form early. My goal is to create a supportive, low-stress learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. Whether a student is struggling to keep up, preparing for an important exam, or aiming to strengthen their understanding for future coursework, I work with them to build strong fundamentals, improve study habits, and develop confidence that lasts beyond our sessions.
