Hi there! My name is Monica, and I’m excited to help you on your language-learning journey. I specialize in teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) and beginning Spanish (Spanish I), with classes tailored to meet your unique needs and interests.
I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration and Policy from California State University, along with a Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) Certificate from the United States. With over 10 years of experience teaching ESL and 4 years of teaching conversational Spanish, I’ve had the pleasure of working with students from all over the world, from working adults to college learners, helping them achieve their goals.
In my classes, I focus on practical skills that make a real difference by guiding my students in: Accent Reduction, Business English, Colloquial English, Grammar Development, Interview Preparation, Listening Comprehension, Reading Comprehension, Speaking Practice, Vocabulary Development, and Writing Correction.
My teaching style is interactive, communicative, and highly personalized. I work hard to select topics and materials that interest you, keeping classes engaging and effective. Whether you want to sound more natural, prepare for an interview, ace an English proficiency test, or simply feel more confident, I’m here to guide you every step of the way.
For my Spanish learners, I bring not only my teaching skills but also my personal connection to the language. I’m fluent in Spanish, with Bolivian parents, and was born in Brazil. I passed the Spanish Advanced Placement (AP) exam in school and have since tutored adults and college students in job interviews, public speaking, presentations, and conversational skills.
I’m confident that together, we can achieve your English or Spanish fluency goals. Let’s take the first step toward your success—book a class with me today! Please note that all my lessons are conducted online for your convenience.
Looking forward to working with you!
