I am a JD student at Trinity Law School with a B.S. in Finance from Roosevelt University. My current coursework includes Contracts, Torts, Civil Procedure, and Constitutional Law. I also bring graduate-level study in communication and professional training in acting and screenwriting - disciplines that sharpen clear communication, close reading, and performance under pressure.

I work with adult and college-level learners who want to strengthen legal reasoning, analytical writing, and exam performance. My tutoring has been primarily one-on-one and focused on helping students identify the precise point where their understanding or written analysis breaks down. I am especially helpful to students who know the rule but struggle to apply it clearly, organize an IRAC response, spot issues, or translate feedback such as “more analysis” into a practical next step.

Sessions are held online and tailored to the student’s immediate objective, whether that is understanding a difficult concept, improving an essay, preparing for an exam, or building a more reliable study system. My approach is structured but conversational: we diagnose the problem, practice the skill, and leave with a concrete plan for improvement.

Creative Writing

Creative Writing

My creative writing background spans screenwriting and narrative prose fiction, disciplines that share a common core of elements: constructing compelling characters, conflict design, and story structure. I completed graduate-level work in Communication, Media, and Theater, where I studied rhetoric, narrative theory, and performance. As a screenwriter I have developed original material across multiple formats, learning to write with precision and economy. I work one-on-one with adult writers who are stuck on structure, voice, or the gap between their idea and the page.
Law

Law

I am a JD candidate at Trinity Law School with a Master of Legal Studies and a B.S. in Finance. My coursework includes Civil Procedure, Contracts, Torts, and Constitutional Law, and I work with adult and college-level learners on legal reasoning, close reading, IRAC organization, and analytical writing. I help students identify the point at which an analysis breaks down, then practice a concrete method for improving issue spotting, rule application, and exam responses. My sessions are educational tutoring, not legal advice or representation.

Excellent Tutor !!!

James has a rare gift for cutting through the dense fog of legalese. Instead of just giving me dry definitions, he carefully breaks down exactly what complex legal concepts and phrases actually mean in the real world. He takes the unnecessary complexity out of dense text by translating abstract jargon into clear, logical ideas. Thanks to his patience, I stopped guessing and finally started analyzing complex legal documents with absolute confidence.

Knowledgeable and Patient Tutor

James was patient and kind even when I was having difficulty getting onto the platform. He seems knowledgeable in his field and is well spoken. He listened well and understood the problem and clearly articulated how he could help. He is willing to work with students where they are struggling. I recommend him.
