Hi, I'm Dominic C. - a professional session bassist, producer, and educator based in Los Angeles. My work has been featured on NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert, the 3x Academy Award-winning film CODA, CBS’s The Young and the Restless, and an NBA Half-Time show for the LA Clippers. I’ve had the honor of opening for artists such as SZA and Justin Timberlake, and collaborating with industry powerhouses including Jesus Molina, Fefe Dobson, Audrey Nuna, and many others. I’m also a go-to session player for major record labels and have worked directly with Paramount Pictures and other top-tier studios - and I want to help YOU become a better musician!

I hold a Bachelor of Music in Bass Performance and Songwriting from Berklee College of Music, and have perfect pitch, which allows me to instantly identify and teach harmonic and melodic material by ear. Since graduating in 2020, I've been able to build a career in music full-time here in Los Angeles spanning across live performance, recording sessions, music production, and artist development - all grounded in a passion for unlocking artistry, creativity, and high-level musical execution with all my students.

My lessons are fun, focused, and fully customized. We’ll break down your favorite songs, sharpen your technique, and build the kind of creative confidence that sets real musicians apart. I have worked on the soundtracks for 3x Oscar Winning Apple TV+'s CODA, Daddy's Home 2, CBS's The Young and the Restless, and more. I help students understand the chemistry and relationship between chords, melody, and rhythm, as well as introducing compositional tricks to make your pieces progress. I also introduce new elements like motifs and reharmonization so you can keep listeners on their toes. Whether working through a DAW like Logic Pro or just writing on an instrument, I can teach each person how to find their unique voice as a composer and unlock new levels of artistic expression.
Ear Training

Ear Training

Ear Training has always spoken to me, as I discovered I had perfect pitch at 12 years old and have since been able to identify the most complex ear training exercises, such as identifying polychords, advanced intervalic identification, and reciting melodies after only hearing once. When it comes to intervals, I help students remember them by popular music they like. I also teach solfege to explore modal vocabulary, as I learned in Berklee. I teach from basic beginner (hot cross buns) to advanced (jazz composition and modal vocab).

Whether thats learning about composition, finding your artistry as a songwriter/performer, teaching how each instrument works alongside each other, I'm here to help develop what student's care about.

I'll break down student's favorite songs, sharpen technique, and build the kind of creative confidence that sets musicians apart. I specialize in utilizing my student's favorite artists and songs as influences, and through harmonic/rhythmic analysis and application, I help develop new musical vocabulary and artistry with the student to sound truly unique! I teach all skill levels and all genres but really excel in rock, rnb, indie/alternative, neo-soul, pop, and hip hop. Let's get to work!

I also collaborate with major label artists such as Audrey Nuna, Fefe Dobson, and more. I produce in Logic Pro X and help students refine their beats and musical vocabulary. This can be through mixing techniques, sound design and recording techniques, or helping make better melodies, chords/voicings, and arrangements. I'm here to make students feel encouraged, empowered, and happy through progress towards their musical goals.

Since graduating from Berklee College of Music, I've worked on music for 3x Oscar Winning movie Apple TV+'s CODA, Paramount Picture's Daddy's Home 2, CBS' The Young And The Restless, and more. I've written for artists such as Danny Padilla from The Bachelor: Listen to Your Heart, Charlie Curtis Beard, Jackson Lundy, Skylar Capri, and front the alternative rock/funk trio Them Fantasies. I would like to help students refine their songwriting by teaching new methods and techniques to use different chords, write more engaging melodies, and nail the perfect songform - and mathematically be able to explain why it works, and why something doesn't work. I'm here to make "catchy" something tangible and conceivable. Any instrument they play is welcome - a good song is a good song no matter the medium. All genres welcome.

Since graduating from Berklee College of Music, I've sang and arranged vocals for 3x Oscar Winning movie Apple TV+'s CODA, Paramount Picture's Daddy's Home 2, CBS' The Young And The Restless, and more. I have sang for Justin Timberlake and Missy Elliot and also collaborate with major label artists such as Audrey Nuna, Fefe Dobson, and more. Through vocal lessons, I help students find different resonances/areas of their voice while also refining musical vocabulary and learning how to take care of the voice. I love to focus on student's long term goals with singing, specializing in genres such as Musical Theatre, Rock, R&B, Pop, and everything in between. I can also help students refine their sight reading skills, help them work on pieces with sheet music if desired, or just help them nail the sound in their head! Each lesson is tailored to the individual student - I'm here to make mine feel encouraged, empowered, and happy through progress towards their musical goals.
