My background in writing comes first from my college days where I worked as a climate researcher for the Circumpolar Active-Layer Monitoring Network in Alaska. When I wasn't in the field I was hard at work collating data and writing grant proposals and research reports. It was this position where I honed my skills for hard science writing including research, citations, and the tone required to be taken seriously as a scientist.
After college my path veered and I began working in my native Los Angeles as a writer for an international themed entertainment company writing creative pitches for live shows and events to be put on around the world. Doing this style of creative writing I found my knack for crafting persuasive writing that sold our product by finding that perfect blend of business and fun.
Through all my professional work I have never let my academics fall behind. I’ve taken multiple creative writing classes at LA universities, keeping up with the ever evolving craft, and even found time for some literature classes to bolster my critical reading skills. In fact, I have even read professionally for film studios in my free time.
