Hello! My name is Aldo, and I recently graduated with departmental honors from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry degree. I am a pre-medical student who hopes to attend medical school within the next few years in order to study medicine and practice as a physician. During my four years of undergraduate coursework, I have developed a strong understanding of a wide variety of disciplines, including biochemistry, general chemistry, organic chemistry, biology, physics, and mathematics, specifically calculus.
I have about two years of tutoring experience, during which time I was able to volunteer to peer-tutor about 70 students in two college courses: organic chemistry one and two. During these tutoring sessions, I would group-tutor about twenty to thirty students at a time and would work through topics or homework problems requested by students attending these tutoring sessions. I would also periodically host test-review tutoring sessions during which I would do an in-depth review of content that was to be covered on the upcoming exams. Additionally, I have experience volunteering to conduct one-on-one tutoring sessions covering concepts from general chemistry one. Through gaining these tutoring experiences, I have discovered and grown my passion for helping students to both understand complex topics and to improve their performance in various courses. I work with students to find the best method of learning for them, whether that be visual, auditory, or a combination of the two, and work with students to identify what exactly they are looking for in terms of tutoring help, such as content review, clarification of specific aspects of content, or assistance in application of conceptual information to questions.
